Warner Music AMP
Lead UI / UX designer

AMP, a music performance tracking tool, supports emerging talents by providing valuable insights to WMG artists and managers. It collects data from social media platforms and digital service providers, enabling informed marketing decisions. I collaborated with the data analyst team and WMG artist managers to deliver an intuitive UX with key performance insights and user-friendly navigation.

IA & Navigation redesign process

With the goal of enhancing user experience, I started the AMP app redesign
to ensure that artists and artist managers can effortlessly navigate through data-rich screens

The Problem

Despite our initial expectations, the mobile app experienced a noticeable lack of user engagement,
with WMG artist users not interacting as actively as anticipated.

Discovery

1.Persona

WMG artist and artist manager
We have defined the app’s core users and identified their behaviors, needs based on qualitative research and data analytics

2.IA and content audit

I drew, analyzed the app's IA, and discovered that the detailed pages lacked user-friendliness due to multiple filters.

Despite offering rich artist performance data, accessing this valuable information proved challenging due to the complex filter navigation.

Experimentation

Comparing the retrieval of artist and performance data as a bundle versus retrieving them separately.

The v1 - Allowing users to search or select from top performing single or release

Pros: Ability to view & select top performing singles or releases.
Cons: Having to select a single or a release.

The v2 - Defaulting on the most popular single or release

Pros: Quick access to the top insights.
Cons: Not able to view & select top performing singles or releases.

Prototype Usability Tests

I facilitated usability tests with artist managers to improve search box placement
and tab UI implementation, resulting in more navigable data-rich screens.

Optimizing for various user needs

I have introduced additional artist selection features to cater for the artist management role types

Outcome

After 6 months of intense planning, prioritization, research, and delivering the final design, we achieved a successful outcome for WMG managers and artists.
